What do cops really do with their time? Are they really the bad guys? Are they wasting our tax dollars? Are they doing corrupt things? Why do so many show up when I get stopped? Are you considering a career in law enforcement?

How would you like to ride with a cop for a shift and see what they do for up to 12 hours? Now you can! Stop by the Sheriff's Office and collect a ride along form! Fill it out, pass a background check that takes only a couple minutes, then get in the car and prepare for the ride of your life. It is a front row seat to the greatest show on earth, some say. You will ride with a Deputy for as long as you want. Watching first hand traffic stops, calls for service, medical assists, crisis intervention, peace disturbances and so much more. Please contact us in advance, so that you may be paired with the best Deputy for your experience.

*There is no guarantee of action. Incidents and investigations are not pre-planned. You may see a lot or nothing. But you are welcome to come back.

* You must bring gov issued photo ID, pass the background check, complete a Ride-Along form,

* Do not bring a firearm without consent of the Sheriff or his appointees. You may wear body armor.

* You may bring extra cash, so if you need a snack, drink or mid shift meal, you can take care of yourself.

* If a extreme danger event happens, you may be dropped at a safe location.

* Entering homes is up to the home owner. We will allow you to follow us into non dangerous locations. But if a home owner says he does not want you there, you may have to wait in the car.

* On traffic stops, you will be required to wait in the vehicle.

What You Get From The Experience

Ride with a Deputy

You Will sit in the passenger seat of a real patrol car and go everywhere a Deputy goes. Spend up to a 12 hour shift.

Ask Questions

Any law enforcement question you ever had. This is the time. Our Deputies will be honest, candid and transparent. You may get the answer you want, or not. But we hope it opens your eyes to the reality of this job.

Career Perspective

A large portion of riders will use this as a first step. Dipping their toe in the water if you will. Many will realize this is not for them, while others will walk away considering a new career path.

Report Writing

For every incident, there is a report to go along with it. We give report writing a lot of flack. But it is a vital skill. A skill that is rarely cultivated enough in the academy and often mastered as a Patrol Deputy.
